I have to say I have not seen anything better than My-Cast for the andriod weather apps. Its not free but its pretty cheap and there are some great features. The only thing I hate is that you have to pay to get the lightning feature added which when I had BB I didn't have to pay for that!

Well I will be up front this app looks pretty slick. And I might have spent a lot of money on my app for nothing. Anyways I guess we will see what it brings in a few weeks /months.

This is a pretty slick app, and seems to be on the right track to become the phone-version of GRLevel3. I went ahead and purchased it. I think there will be a lot of good feature additions in the near future.

It's the makings of a killer app BUT some big features are still missing. For example, there is no looping at this time and the map only displays county lines.

I Don't want to speak for him but. Android has some limitations as far as Memory (ram) goes when rendering files out you use ram when displaying maps you use ram when looping radar data you use ram. There is not enough ram. So you have to craft sneaky ways to make things work despite this. The advantage that the i*hone has is it only runs 1 app at a time so you have the OS and that 1 app using ram. It is very much like a old computer it works fine until you open several things. My app is using Google maps which use a lot or ram also but there is a update coming to maps that makes it so they are not tiles that take forever to download.
On a personal note I am Very excited to see the development of this project and give it 4 Stars. It is one of the best on the market currently and once we can get some more features it will be sure to make all of us on android very happy chasers.

While I'm sympathetic with this guy's dilemma, snippets like this are prime setups for buying this app and never hearing from him again. I don't do pre-emptive excuses. I'll keep an eye on the product but with the end of Mike's noble attempt comes the end of my hope for Android.

Your loss. And if that happens, I'll be out $6, which can't even get you a fast food meal these days. Not everyone can devote a full time effort to these things. I think it's safe to say most phone apps are developed in similar manners - side jobs by people with an interest and knowledge of programming. I got an email from this developer and he sounds very capable.
I also think Mike's app may still be another alternative especially when google maps comes out with version 5, which is apparently very soon.

After some poking around, I think it's pretty obvious the guy working on PYKL3 has some interest in weather, so I'm not too concerned about it. At its early stage, I think this is one of the best apps out there for what I want in functionality. It's clean, it's been quick to load (granted I'm sitting in the middle of the city), and I like the UI. While I like the benefits of position data, warning polygons, and such, there's plenty of other tools in the quiver where I get that info when I really need it...looks like he's working on a few of those as well though.

). This is still in its early stages and I think it has the potential to become a very good radar app for Android(FINALLY!). Heck, even Radarscope had to start somewhere...And hey, we're already saving $4 compared to $10 for Radarscope

Six bucks may be worth the gamble, thinking about it. Also, this would be a good app to use for when exact location doesn't matter. When it does, I'll turn on Mike's.

Since I know Joe the developer of PYKL3 Radar app, I will respect his privacy by not posting too much here, unless he starts posting on Stormtrack. But just to let you know that you should not have any concerns over the development of the app. He is very knowledgeable of weather and programming. He has storm chased in the past and still does given time. I'm confident that he will continue to develop a quality radar app and willing to take input on features users would like to have.
