• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I know, I know, you get what you pay for. I typically prefer going with the best, and I have used the nice jotto and ram mounts and know they are well worth the money; however, I am currently trying to save as much as I can with the season quickly approaching, and due to the fact that this will be the last Spring I have my current car, combined with the fact that I actually chase in this car very seldom, I don't want to splurge on a mount for it. I have heard a mix bag of comments on the el'cheapo mounts, some ya hear are great for the money, and then you hear of others crashing with the weight of a laptop, anyone have any personal positive experiences with any el'cheapo mounts? Which ones? I guess worse case scenario I will break down and by a ram mount, I would just prefer to wait until I get the new ride as opposed to buying two new mounts within the next year.

Problem solved....and it will stay where you put it!

I have just what you need Dustin! Check out the one that I currently have installed and use (images). If you can mess around with it and be patient, be sure to get everything nice and tight you will not have a problem using it at all. The top is actually made out of wood, nice and sturdy, yet cheap. I believe that is just what you are looking for. The piping is half inch stuff that you can get at any hardware store, probably total cost <$10 if not cheaper.

You can always PM me if you want some more info or some better instructions on how to go about it. It can be time consuming.

Thanks guys; thats a nice setup you got rigged up there Jayson, I really need/want one that can rotate/swivel, though since this is just a temporary deal I should be able to get by with something of that sort, I'll probably just have the old man (who is great at engineering stuff like that) "help" me build and construct one. I know he could and would build something sturdier than some of those Cheap deals on Ebay.

I have mine setup to where it can swivel still if you want to push it out of the way, etc. to get out of the vehicle. Also right now I can take the 'desk' off and the rest of it swivels so it is in between the seat and the center console as to where it isn't in the way for any passengers. If you want something cheap, I think it's definitely the way to go. You'll just have to be patient when figuring it all out and having the engineer father come help would be nice...
