• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Mobile Threatnet Warnings Problem

I had a problem with Mobile Threatnet out chasing today. I haven't made any mods to the pc or updates to Threatnet, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be deleting old warnings that have expired. This was annoying so I selected reload warnings and it loaded tons of counties of warnings. Not sure what that was about. So, next I went into counties maintenance and deleted all US counties (it took awhile). I selected warnings to display and eventually it started displaying the correct ones (even though no counties were enabled ). Next I added all counties and it seem to work and display counties well, but then I noticed it never got rid of the old counties that had already expired again.

Has anyone else had this problem today or previously? Threatnet reps on here...do you have any recommendations?

Check to see that your computers time zone is set correctly. If it isnt DO NOT adjust it while threat net is running. I had the same problem with the warnings not going away. Tech said check the time zone which was set to Pacific. I corrected it and my TN was all screwed up for the remainder of my chase trip. Correct it while TN is off and you should be fine.

I had this problem the past few years and never could find a solution. Sometimes they clear and sometimes they dont. There were even times it was showing warnings from the previous day!!

LIke I said it comes and goes and I never heard of a solution.

Yeah, so really this may be a database problem with Mobile Threatnet. Apparently they aren't properly updating and expiring the warnings on their server so it never gets pushed to our computers in the field.

Anyone have any ideas as to why I wouldnt be getting warnings at all? My Button is blue and it says its receiving all data but the darn warnings never shade in. Any ideas?

It could have been your state settings. You have to enable warnings state by state. I usually only have enabled the state or states I am chasing in that day so I dont have warnings I dont need. But you have to restart the program once you make changes for them to become effective.

I quote...The same thing happened to me last year, but no solution.

Well, I believe this is the first time I ever experienced this problem. I haven't changed anything so likely it is something on their side. I suppose I should contact support. Anyone have that number in case I can't find it?

Jason, depending on what service level you are on...when you activate make sure all your products get enabled and it actually says what you are paying for. I used to do Ground Responder, but lately I get most of what I need with Master Mariner. Once it's all activated make sure you load all counties, then as you say make sure the blue 'warnings' button is pressed (turns green) in order to display them. It will flash while they are loading and updating. Check it out when there is a severe event in an area not around you that you aren't chasing on a non-chase day for you. You might also make sure that the service level subscription you purchased includes warnings. Also check the version of Threatnet you are running. You can upgrade. But I am running an older version because I heard they disabled a lot of stuff on newer versions.

Every version gets warnings. Even when I had my account disactivated in "off season" you could still fire up wxworx and get warnings. It would show "basic" level of service. You just have to make sure you actived each state and all the counties in that state then restart wxworx and it should work.
