• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I am chasing in an older model Honda Accord (89 model) currently and I need a laptop desk for my Inspiron 9300 that has a 17" screen. Something that will allow me to keep the radar open while driving. Any suggestions on what I should buy? TIA.

Brett,

Do a search on this in the archives. This was discussed in some detail before chase season really got in swing.

I can't tell you for sure, but it seemed like the Jotto Desk got the most nods for a commercially made desk. Others were pretty well homebuilt though there were a couple fo other companies out there. Ram Mount being another one that I looked at.

Brett,

Jotto Desk is a very nice piece of equipment. Reflecting what John stated.. I purchased mine from a member of the board.., Hank Baker.. He was able to get me a healthy discount on it.. If you were to PM him through the board here. im sure he can hook you up..

Jottos are the way to go. I've used several homemade setups but nothing is as comfortable as the Jotto desk. I just bought a second one for the back seats.

Thanks Fred. I PMed him so hopefully I will get an answer back and see what he can do for me. I really need something very durable and I am hoping to get things setup very well before the cane and fall severe seasons get here.

If you a looking for a laptop mount solution that is economical, you might look at the following link:

I heard about them through the WX-Chase list last year and ordered their laptop mount via Ebay. They were prompt and reliable. Got a simple and easy to install mount for about $43. It doesn't take up much room and I have been quite happy with the mount.
