Hey everybody,

I'm curious if anyone on ST has any familiarity with Gordon's new Max Amp? I want a new amp for next season and I'm deciding on something powerful, reliable, and able to provide connectivity to multiple users at once. The Max Amp seems like a good choice so I was wondering if anyone purchased and used it already. Also, I found one from WeBoost. It looks somewhat comparable. Does anyone have any experience with it?

No one has tested yet . Prototypes go to testers shortly . Which includes Steve Miller , Mark Blue and Roger Hill.

I just got the Weboost Drive 4g-x and I can't believe the results. I honestly had some serious doubts. I loved my sleek and didn't really believe it would be better. Now the same rule seems to apply. It will boost a few feet away, but you gain quite abit moving everything closer to the inside antenna. It's not a big deal for me as I use a headset to cut down on noise and of course to be hands free. It's extremely hard to find a dead spot on the Verizon network but I average probably around 28db gain. On Att it's closer to 35. I've seen a 61 db gain ONCE while sitting still, but I do have aftermarket antenna. To be fair, WeBoost did send this to me for testing as I live in what most consider the jungle and when it comes to att, there is alot of dead spots in my viewing area. I did have my att device go to edge one spot and I don't know how to check the db when it goes to that frequency, but it went from one to full bars immediately. It's a prepaid device and so it doesn't have access to all of their towers. So I'm not sure if it would have pulled in another lte signal or not. The amp gets warm. Manual says it will. I'm anal so I put a fan near it. This isn't a bash thread for any other products. Wish I could test them all as I want the best just like everyone else. But I am absolutely amazed. Technology is FINALLY making leaps and bounds in this department. I've tried quite a few over the years but it's not fair to comment about the results as I'm sure most new devices are probably new animals.

Funny , all I have heard is from disappointed customers . That are returning them and purchasing ours. Even a tester that received theirs for free is disappointed in the performance and notices hardly any difference from the previous unit Wilson sent them . We have lab tested them . Believe the people that have been patiently waiting for ours , will find it was worth the wait. Time will tell.

Hopefully it will be out by the time Chasercon rolls around, so we can test them side by side.

It will out long before then . And Mark Blue , Steve Miller and Roger Hill will all be getting per production samples very shortly ., So we will see long before then . A Wilson product has never out performed one of my products . And I am sure that trend will continue.

Never heard this from you . What model ? Did you contact us? Maybe you should ask Mark , Roger and Steve about their past experiences with brands I have sold compared to Wilson/ WeBoost products.

I'm not going to get into one of the may heated discussions that you seem to bring and have personally heard from you back on here. I don't need to be your best friend. I just need to like your product. Stand behind it. It's your job. I have no relations with any company and will/and have turned several down because of product failure. And some quite lucrative. Just love to chase and always looking for that edge. I debated even putting this on here just for this reason. But he asked. I can PROMISE you that even if you turn around and cuss me out on here, or in person that if I run into someone with your NEW amps and it appears to perform better, it will be said out of my mouth. Honestly, I'm curious. I do want to see the changes. I want the best, period. I actually hope it does do better. That would be awesome. I love upgrading. I'm done here until I see one. Not going to turn this into the old stormtrack. Peace Gordon. Please.

Is this going to be a "Direct Connect" I have only waited 3 years and I`m not gonna wait much longer before I buy something else.

Wireless . ( because majority of Devices no longer have RF ports , It will do 8 devices at once even on Separate carriers with all devices getting full amplification even . Has a sensitivity of -127 Others -104 , Car unit has a range of 8 to 10 feet when others is 3 feet at best most of the time far less at best ) . And I had to fight the government for 25 months and we have spent over 4 million dollars in this fight.

Just curious....how is this amp better than my Wilson? I can leave my phone on the cradle, turn on my hotspot, and have 4g in nearly All the territory I chase in. While outside of the car, I use a tablet to connect thru said hotspot well beyond any range I would set up my tripod.

Granted I'm not a full on plains chaser, but what makes this worth considering...as a very interested potential customer?

Thanks Gordon. And thanks for being an innovator...as a product designer myself, it's awesome to see this process.

All the stuff listed above. You do not have to leave your phone in a cradle . It will do up to 8 devices at once. The sensitivity is off the hook . Your phone stops even sensing signal at -113 dbm - -116 dbm . This amplifier senses signal down to -127 and makes it useable . Our competitors amps need a minimum signal of -104 dbm to work at all . . Ours will work on multiple carriers at once , theirs will work on multiple carriers but not at the same time, once it locks into the first carrier that is the only carrier it will work with . Ours gives all devices full amplification . Theirs cuts the power in half with each device added . We have been developing this unit for 4 years . This is brand new technology. It has been a fight even after finally passing the FCC have now changed the rules twice on us, making us remake our prototypes. We are the only amplifiers to pass all the new regulations. Our competitors got PBA's ( Permit but asks ) issued as they convinced the FCC that no none could pass all the new regulations and for public safety this type of equipment is needed. This means they can only build with permission . We have been told , now everyone will be required to meet the new regulations.

Thanks for the info Gordon. I'm looking forward sto some reviews from fellow chasers who have, or are planning to, purchased your amp. Obviously peer review is a strong motivator for a purchase, in either direction.

Sounds like its been a tough road...glad to see you coming out the other side with some innovation in hand.

Working on getting prototypes to Mark Blue , Roger Hill and Steve Miller. So they can give chasers an honest assessment. FCC has screwed with me several times and I have had to have the boards re done twice. Engineers are testing now.
