hi all,
since my dissertation is more to mathematical meteorology, i need to find out the possibilities of this research idea. i am thinking about the tropical cyclone lifetime which i wish to go more into modelling. the thing that i ain't sure is, which method should i study. should i go with Navier-Stokes Eq? or there are some other method to theoritically study the formation and lifetime (of the cyclone).

anyone has any idea about Picard's iteration method? how can that applied to cyclone/storm?
and also i need some simple idea about bifurcation theory, and lyapunov exponent and how they relate to meteorology.

i've come through all wikipedia articles about abovementioned, but i need someone else to ease the language. LoL...

Your dissertation professor will be able to answer your questions and/or point to the appropriate information source. Plus, I've never found wikipedia useful for any serious scientific research projects ... it's like skating on thin ice.
