Just some dumb facts and numbers about ST members

Don't think we have any Terras in here other than me--or Serights, for that matter (not many of us Serights around anyway). :)

Jason,I noticed in one of the other posts the members name is Uday. May have to adjust the list and will be down to just 3 letters now.

Yeah...I haven't taken a look at the names stats yet. It's a longer process. I'm sure I'll get to it soon though.....can't bump a thread and only add the short level of statistics.

I'm also going to try and find some other neat stuff. Like longest thread (most posts). Who has the highest posting rate (I'm at 1.04). Some stats based on join date (like how many per year), etc.

I'm sure Tim has access to some of these stats as an admin, but I just play with them for fun.

It would be really need to have past stats further back than the first run I did, but hey.

Update to this:

(as of 6/16/09 3:52pm eastern time)
There are 28 members with over 1000 posts
There are 8 members with over 2000 posts
There are 4 members with over 3000 posts
There is 0 member with over 4000 posts

Why do I find those so hard to believe? I'm one of the only 8? Hell almost to the 1 of 4? Then 1 of 5 I guess. I just don't see how this is possible. Seems there would have to be more than 8. Are the 4 3000+'s not included in the 2000+?

I think there may have been a change, or someone has been removed from the board....because earlier I posted that there was one person with 4000 or more posts, but now there isn't. So the criteria for counting posts may have changed. I do remember at some point it was pointed out the Bar and Grill section doesn't count toward posts or something like that (or was it polls?).

I guess some of it is easier to believe after browsing the member list and thinking about the length of time on here. Seems this site really kind of has a low post ratio to begin with.

Yay, 2 more posts closer to 3000 lol.

Yeah...of the top say 50 posters...I don't think anyone has posted at a rate of more than 2 posts per day.

How do I end up 2008 top poster? Sometimes I go for more than a week plus without a post....

It's all averages. If you posted like crazy on a large event, or got in any debates online where you were posting almost like a chat room, than the average would go up. That would offset your down time. I too have gone a long string of days without posting, but they are few and far between.

Evidently not even a long string of minutes without posting when you first joined:

Top Poster of each of those years:

2003 = Jeff Snyder
2004 = Robert Dewey
2005 = Dan Robinson
2006 = Danny Neal
2007 = Jason Foster
2008 = Jim Saueressig
2009 = Karla Dorman

I don’t recall any large events in December of that year so you either had one heck of a debate or you really had a lot of weather related stuff bottled up in your mind!:D

I just had my kidney transplant and was home all day and couldn't move much. After joining a few times, never posting, and having my account removed....I realized I had to be active in the forum. Then just found a lot of neat people here. That's what did it.

Sorry to hear about the kidney but glad you found a rewarding way to spend time recovering and wish you good health;). As for stats regarding posting thank goodness my chases/tornado ratio isn’t as bad as my topics read/topics posted ratio…but it’s heading in that direction:eek:.
