Denver has been getting some wind lately (it actualy tried to flatten our crappy fence yesterday) and today was more wind but not as strong. The mostly clear skies today slowly got cloudy and just a few minutes ago, out of the blue, we get pea sized hail. No thunder or lightning. The hail lasted maybe two minutes, followed by a brief downpour. I am assuming this came from a cell just to my South east, probably blew in. I am in the 56th and Chambers area. The whole event lasted perhaps 5 minutes.

Anyone ever get these quickies?

I actually got one in April of 2008. In San Antonio we were on the tail end of a dragging cold front and storms went from initiation to 50+dbz in less than 15 minutes. Got quarter size hail for about 5 minutes and then was treated to an amazing light show to my ESE with perfectly clear skies above. All said and done, whole event lasted 20 minutes tops.
