• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Is the almanac dead?

I wanted to start discusion on the storm chaser almanac here.

I thought the almanac was a good idea so I decided to start my own after this almanac was not updated for months. I decided to take the idea further and include hurricanes, snowstorms, historic heatwaves etc and I even added some pictures that are public domain.

In response to the thread started in the weather and chasing forum where Eric Flecher asked for information on a event I was thinking is the almanac here dead? I have not seen it updated in months and thought the idea was a good one. I think you guys could realy do a good job on the almanac if you put some time and effort into it and update it. You could even add pictures and more detail or links to make it more interesting. Just saying a tornado hit this town hard or tornadoes occured in sw Kansas on this day is not interesting. People wont read it if it just has boring one liners that tell them nothing about the event. If you atleast updated it than people would not have to start a thread asking about information for a event they can just look in the almanac.

I would be willing to add or post lots of events with detailed information or just one liners if I have little information here for your almanac as I find them for my almanac. The question is does the staff here want to continue the almanac or just let it sit there and collect dust? I am just trying to speed things along here and offering to help out in any way I can.

Please let me know if you want any help and if your still doing the almanac here.
