Hi all,

I visited Mt. Nanos 1262m today, this is how it looked like from my place in the morning:

When I arrived at the top, all was covered with rime, snow and ice:

There is an RTV tower where rime was more than 30cm wide! Incredible nature!

Then I went further into the woods when I usually measure extreme bora, in those places trees were all covered with rime:

Around the mountain hut there was more than 1m of snow and few meters of drifts:

Looking down towards Razdrto from where I came:

After 20min the top was covered with clouds and it started to snow:

A great day has ended with adrenaline walk over precipitous path towards Razdrto

Best regards,

I love the contrast between the valley and the summits in your photos.

Reminds me of my time on the summit of Mount Washington last winter. In late December we had rime grow to several feet in length. Some places over 2 meters. It was a perfect balance of wind speed, moisture, and temperature. Too windy and the rime breaks, too cold and rime growth is limited.
