• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

This is NOT my picture, i claim no ownership of it, I saved it at one point this summer because I thought it looked pretty neat but for the life of me I can't remember where I saved it, or who it was from. It was in early June when I saved the pic related to tornadoes near our lake cabin in northern MN but the picture had no caption as to whether or not it was from then? (if this is the wrong topic area I apologize i felt it kind of fit with the "name that date" thing everyone is doing)...

Hi Andy...
I suspect that was from August 24, 2006 in Nicollet County MN - the 33 mile long F3 that clipped the extreme southern edge of St. Peter. A few miles after this is when the F3 damage began. I'd guess Josh Jans took that, but I'm not certain.

UPDATE: Josh Jans e-mailed me to say that it is his photo.

Hey Todd, I was just going to propose the Nicollet/Kasota, MN tornado as the answer to the riddle, but as I was searching for the video or pic I just had to stop and watch some tornado video lol. I suspect it is a cropped image of a vortex when the tornado had the widely spaced multiple vorticies.

I kind of assumed it was some sort of stock image i think it was on a newspaper site relating to the tornadoes near Park Rapids, MN on June 6, 2008... but like i said the picture had no details with it, just thought it looked pretty cool, thanks for the input into this.
