• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

For those chasing today and tomorrow (June 4 & 5, 2008), Highway 77 south out of Beatrice NE has a significant detour when you get into Kansas somewhere around Marysville if my memory serves me correctly. This would wreck a good chase if you weren't aware of it. It re-routes you to the east so you can't keep going south towards Manhattan. Just an FYI.

Wow - this is good to know. The nearest options would be 81 to the west, or 75 to the east ... both of these are a significant jaunt away from 77. It's going to totally suck if there's a storm track up through there, which is a very real possibility on a day like this.

The detour is 9 / 99 / 16

I made a quick map:
Yellow is the detour, red is the bridge out (2 miles north of 16) should you desire to follow the road closed for a bit)

Thanks Jim - the map above is the exact route we had to take on Monday. Keep an eye out for some nutty lady in a mini van that drives like a bat out of H.E. double toothpicks. We first had to pass her and a truck because she was too petrified to get 'r done, then later down the road her courage went off the charts and she started taking all kinds of risks. She was passing on double yellow lines, weaving over the center line, hitting the shoulder, passing on hills, all kinds of crazy stuff. Oncoming cars were flashing their lights at her like, what are you doing lady? Anyhow, that is a significant detour and is worth noting if your chase takes you through there in the next couple of days.
