Hurricane Dean Image Grabs...

Well George Kourounis and I had a pretty sucessful chase to the northern and northeast coast of Jamaica to get shots of the onshore winds before dark. We did get some gusts of as high as 80mph and mountainous surf. The coastal road was very narrow and tree lined in sections so we had to go slow and detour at times around storm surged and litter strewned roads. The reason here in Jamaica we chose to be on the northside is if you were on the southside of the island the mountain range would block the northeast winds. The southside was good but it was well after dark when the shift to the southeast would occur.

Jim - Cool job.

I was such a hair close to going down there but had too many comittments here in the states. I would probably have been on the same plane as you!
