HRRRv4 upgrade _June_ (now November) 2020 (also RAP to v5)

Have the HRRR's ability to forecast CIN improved over the last few years? When I worked in the NWS at the Aviation Weather Center forecasting convection on a daily basis, it seemed to me the HRRR developed too much convection when observed CIN was strong and not expected to erode.

The latest update I have heard puts the operational implementation of HRRRv4 now at early to mid November.

Thanks Jeff, this is a really informative thread. I claim little knowledge on the subjects discussed, but I can appreciate the potential of not only having lab data, but also harnessing the community at large in this scientific research. It makes us (me) feel a part of something larger and important.
