• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Hello everyone the vehicle I am unable to keep wires in the vehicle I chase with in permanently. And I was wondering if anyone of you had any suggestions on how to manage them. I already have searched around on the forums and couldn't find anything. You're help would be lovely.

Regards,
Joseph Penty

I route my VHF/UHF radio's coax and other misc things under the carpets. Easy to do with most Honda cars; they already make that easy because they have hooks/snaps holding them in place. Wouldn't route any power wires that way - though. Could cause a fire or short!

Thanks for the idea I hadnt really thought about it ,ill probably implement that this season.

Yeah I think I have some of that laying around the house. Ill try it out.

If you're looking for something that you can move into and out of your car, what I use is an auto tote. You can put your router, amp, and whatever else you are using in the back then just run your power cords to a lighter socket and put your antenna on the roof or run the cable to wherever it's mounted. I've been using the auto tote for 4 years now and it enables me to take everything in the motel at night, so it isn't at risk of a five finger discount if left in the car. Here are a couple of photos of what it looks like:

I just went to Google Joe and typed "Creekside cargo tote" and came up with the results I was looking for. Creekside is the brand that I use and they have a few different models to choose from. I actually have two and it makes it a lot easier to carry all of the extra gear used during chasing into and out of the car. Actually, I don't even look like a chaser when out and about for the most part. The only item on the outside of the SUV is the glass mount antenna and other than the vanity plate no one would know for certain what I'm up to.

I used split loom in my car also, then I took zip ties and wrapped them around the loom at intervals leaving the long tails. Then I tuck the tails into any crack i can find to help route the loom and keep it tight to the car. works like a champ and is easy to remove.

Velcro is your friend. Buy a large roll of double sided hook and loop ribbon (hook on one side, loop on the other.) from Harbor Freight Tools. That, along with split loom tubing should solve most of your routing problems. Consolidate your wiring in the split loom and tie the split loom to anything using the hook and loop. wrap the tubing hook side out and the tubing will stick to the carpet. It's great in rental situations...

Yes, split looming is the way to go. If you don't like the plastic pipe-type stuff, there is also a more fabric-style looming as well. We use it a lot at work to keep cables together, The big strength is you lay it in to place, and then pull it out. Quite easy to deal with too.
