It was one of numerous twisters moving through the region ahead of an expected cold front.
Hardin County sheriff's dispatcher Valerie Stewart said an elderly woman was killed and three people were injured when the storm hit their home about 4:30 p.m.
Stewart said several trailers were wiped out, but she wasn't certain whether the woman who died lived in a trailer.
National Weather Service meteorologist John Trares in Lake Charles, Louisiana, said there were also reports of homes being destroyed in Newton County.
Also, the emergency management coordinator for Jasper, Newton and Sabine counties said authorities believe three tornadoes hit the town of Kirbyville within minutes of one another tonight. Stewart reported four tornadoes in Hardin County. -abc13.com
Anyone else hear of the three naders hitting Kirbyville? This is first I have heard of it.
