• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Hi,

Can you recommend me some cheap (under $150-$200) cell phone with modem and HTML Browser. I just want to connect to internet, to get the latest sat/rad.

Cheers,

Angel

I like the Razr V3. You can pick up one in that price range from ebay depending on the model and the condition. I just got a V3xx and love it, although that model is probably going to be a bit above that price range unless you sign a two year contract (which I know is out of the question for overseas folks). Anyway, I like the Razr much better than my Sony Ericsson z500. It seems that the Razr has far less compatibility issues, it doesn't lockup my machine, and it was easier finding drivers for it. These are some chaser orientated points that you might not find in more generic, online reviews. And as far as using the built in browser. The Razr's have a large, sharp screen and a full featured browser (from what I am used to seeing).

Check out the Nokia 6682. I've got it and love it. Big screen, you can run a native version of Opera (but it also comes with its own that's great), and it also runs Symbian which is a pretty open OS.

GSM and web browser

Hi Andrew and Stu,

My father gave me an idea - to run dial-up modem, which is connected to linux server, connected to internet, so I will be able to connect to internet with modem from gsm, as in the good old days, like BBS system, but with internet, I will be like ISP back in 1995. The other question is the gsm to have browser, the internet will cost not more than the price to talk (I will talk not with people, but with 010100011100011 to my dial up modem). Yep, 3G sounds better, but it will be more expensive.

:-)

Cheers,

Angel
