• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

So about a year or two ago when I had a sweet job and lots of money I remember buying some version of GRLevelX. Well I've had to reformat my computer and never installed them again and I've lost my licensing keys and can't even remember what software I purchased from them.

I emailed them a week ago and have yet to get a response. Any suggestions on how to poke them?

I can't believe how many people lose licensing keys. It's as simple as writing it on a piece of paper and putting it in a safe place. Really, it is that simple. Not trying to be harsh here, but it just boggles my mind.

Anyway, you might be stuck with having to purchase the software again, but I'm not sure.

From the GRlevelX owners forum ( located at http://www.grlevelx.com/owners/index.php) :

I have received numerous requests for lost keys. It is not Gibson Ridge Software's responsibility for maintaining your registration key. Most software companies charge for lost key retrieval.

When you receive your registration key email, print it out and store it in a secure location. That way you will be able to easily find it in the event your hard disk crashes or other disasters occur.

If you do need your key resent to you, note that you must request it from the email address used when you purchased the program. Lost key retrieval requests are the lowest priority items on my list of things to do.

If you no longer have the email address used for the purchase, expect a long, drawn out question and answer session to verify that you actually purchased a program. Requests from free email address (eg. [email protected]) are given special scrutiny since they are used for 99+% of fraudulent requests.

The best way to avoid all this is to simply print out the registration key email and store it in a secure location for future reference.

Thanks,
Mike
So there ya go... right from the horses mouth. The GMail suggestion above is a good one.. I use that myself.
