• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Jeff -- I'm running GR3 in Windows 7 64-bit just fine, and I know many others are as well. What error(s) is (are) you getting?

FWIW, your best bet for getting support for GR3 is via the GR Owners Forum --> http://www.grlevelx.com/owners/index.php . Note that Mike just released version 1.70, which adds support for "high-res" Level 3 data.

I keep getting an error 0x8876086A: Unable to get DirectX9 device capabailities. And then it just exits.

I did format my computer and install Win7. I thought that DirectX was installed with the windows update. Im thinking this may be the problem.

Do a google search for DirectX9 and select the Microsoft link. Just redownload it and install. I've had issues will DX9 not working properly on recently wiped machines. The redownload fixed it.

I typed in your error code 0x8876086A into Google and it brought up some threads on the GRLX owner's forums. I would post a thread over there and see what advice Mike can give you. Windows 7 comes preloaded with DirectX11 - as an FYI I'd be careful about any potential downgrades to another version. Seems it generally has to do with updated drivers for your graphics hardware or that your hardware isn't supported. If I were you I'd just type the error code into Google and take it from there.

A likely solution is that your graphics drivers aren't getting it done. If there are windows 7 versions of them, install them.

A just FWIW, I installed both level 3 and 2AE on WIN7 32 bit with zero problems on a clean (new out of the box) hard drive. All of my add-ons also installed with no problem.

I did an upgrade install from Vista to Win7 (both 32-bit) and had no problems with either GR3 or GR2. Likely going to be an easy fix with a simple upgrade of a driver or two...

Sam as Joe, no issues at all with GRL3 and GRL2A Windows 7 Ultimate.

hey guys thanks for yalls post. It ended up being a video graphics driver that needed to be updated. Once i did that GRlevel3 worked good. thanks again
