• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

This is a really interesting article someone passed to me at work today. A close encounter between one of the Gizomodo writers and the tornado south of Chicago a few weeks back.

Interesting the way he describes how the gadgetry has forever altered the way people deal with something like a tornado staring them in the face. He relates how everyone grabbed their camera to get some Youtubable content during the height of the event.

Thank You for posting this. Thats my video he used in his blog. People started asking me questions as if I had written it and when they would mention "In your Gizmodo article you said....." and I would get confused...it all makes sense now.

I do agree with what he says though, but thats just the world we live in. I see the trend not only continuing, but getting worse.

Squatting beside them all on the damp floor, there was no where in the world that felt more comforting. We introduced ourselves around our artificial campfire. The boy asked his girlfriend, "Is this the first time you've ever been in a boy's bathroom?" She said that it was.

"It's always this exciting," I assured her.

^ Ain't that the truth ^

Adam that is some asome footage you have on camera. Was anobody hurt by this tornado? Sorry to hear they did not pay you to use the video.

There were no serious injuries. 2 minor injuries and no deaths.....

This is why I love chasing with Adam Lucio (and Matt Fischer for that matter) It is just about the storms. Adam could have asked for a ton of money but he didn't because it isn't everything to him and he is not a greedy person.(Don't read into it, I am not suggesting most chasers are greedy) Each people have their own reasons for chasing and to each their own. But I think Adam's style is more closely related to mine, which is why every time we meet up it is always a good time, storm or not.

As for his video on this article.....he was talking about sending them a letter just to say..."hey that's my video! Don't try anything." But I don't know how that went as of yet..... If he sees it as a big deal I am sure he will say more about it.

It was an extremely descriptive article which I enjoyed reading. I believe the gas station he was referring too may have been on I 57 and Stuenkel Road which would have put it 1 mile south of where I was and about where Adam took the video from. I briefly looked on youtube for any gas station/close up tornado views, but didn't find any.

June 7th....what a day.

Thanks Matt, fortunately noone was killed, Ive heard conflicting reports of how many injuries there were with the highest total being 6.

In the report thread for that day I posted pictures of the aftermath. A semi truck and a large SUV were both rolled and debris littered the road. I was stuck in the police lockdown for about an hour and the expressway itself remained closed for I think 2 days in that area.

I sent Gizmodo an email and asked that they please state the video is not theirs. The person who wrote it never actually claimed it was his so I dont see the need to escalate it further than that.
