I have owned two Chevy Blazers (88' and 98'), and I now drive a 2003 Toyota 4Runner. My 4Runner is by far the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned and performs better than my previous chase vehicles. The 4Runner earned its stripes on May 24th this past year as I navigated it on slick, muddy county roads. The built in traction control feature works nicely when the vehicle loses grip.

The reliability of the 4Runner is top notch. I guess my advise to anyone considering a chase vehicle in the future is consider a Toyota.

The FJ Cruiser may be the best stock off-roading capable vehicle out there.

The 4Runner is very reliable and the 4x4 version is very capable on county roads.
