First Snow

Just like last year, Missouri has been one of the most neglected states snow-wise (even Tucson, AZ has been dumped on). I was under a Blizzard Watch for Christmas night and when I went outside at 2am, it was snowing, but when I woke up the next morning, there was nada on the ground. Then for December 28, I got 1.35inches of snow (taken from several different measurements). That puts snow totals for this area at approximately 1.5in total.

These posts are funny to me. Around here nobody can wait for snow, until a couple days after we get it. Then we all have to wait 3-4 months to get rid of the stuff. If you pay for shipping I will gladly send you a barrel.

Our snowfall this season is way below average and has been almost non-existent, so far we have 2.7 inches versus the norm to date of 20.1. I do love a good snow every once in a while but no complaints here if the trend continues!

Where I live (Chicago, IL) we are currently having our least snowiest season on record. An almost non existent 1.3" is our total so far, which is a good 15 inches below normal and just 6% of what we normally see by now. Even that is generous though because my area of the city has seen even less, with the closest station nearby logging only .8" so far this year.

I am not complaining though. I hate the stuff

Our neighborhood north of Dallas has you beat. So far I've recorded 2" in my back yard this past month. Other towns around here have reported more...
