There was a lady on CNN earlier from Ocean Springs, and she said all the homes on the beach were gone (nothing but slabs). Even some houses that withstood Camille were blown/washed away, according to her.

Coastal storm surge in mississippi was catostrophic. CNN just interviewed a Biloxi area hotel worker who had an appartment near the coast in Ocean Springs and recently went to check it out. She said the buildings were 'gone'.


Buildings that were not directly on the coast might have survived.

There are also reports that some casino barges hasve washed ashore. Also the Biloxi to ocen springs brige is gone acording to a resident.

When I travel home to Baton rouge I would often go down hwy for the scenic route if it was a nice day. Put the top down on the jeep and cruise the beach road....


I'm gonna miss doing that.

Every one of these building mentioned, i have pictures in my mind of how they were.

reports from a friend in MS that the hwy 90 bridge between ocean springs and biloxi is out. Sorry I can't "verify it" but it's coming from a reliable personal soruce.

I just heard frim Houston Texas that the area off of goverment blvd, especially near Ocean Springs High School was okay, lots of trees and roof damage but they survived with no surge damage... Street of Woodland Circle stil intact....
