extreme cold

This was here in Texas a couple of weeks ago.

Nope, not lacking any cold here.

I'm sorry I don't think of 5 degrees is extreme cold. The all-time record low for Alabama is -27. Was that a low temp? I've seen -5 for a high and -mid 30s for a low here in southern new york. I'm talking about like -20s for highs in the upper mid-west. http://blogs.mprnews.org/updraft/2015/01/coldest-day-of-2015-feeling-70-degrees-warmer-next-week/ Only -30 below in northern Minnesota. I think their all time record is like 60 below so.

Pretty sure after last winter, nobody is complaining about the lack of "extreme cold". I know I certainly am not complaining. Even though the first part of January has been plenty cold across the northern tier of the US. Not as cold as last year though.

It's like 30 degrees off the all-time record low for Texas. Not anything of note this year in terms of cold weather. Were you guys around in 1994? 1996? and even last year I think it was like 10 degrees colder for the minimums across a lot of the country.

I think it's wrong to post that there is a LACK of cold and then to make the thread title: "extreme cold"... or is that just me? LOL Just a suggestion for the future: "Warm", or perhaps "Not Cold".

I'm saying after the 1990s (Pinatubo erupted in 91) it's been a different world with global warming showing full force. I mean looking at the temp departures I think one of the only places on the continent getting colder is se Canada. What happens after this?

Just two weeks ago most of the northern U.S. was feeling -20 and lower for low temps and zero for highs. Bet if you asked people who lived there if it was extremely cold they would probably say it was.

What happens after this?

A question with no antecedent phrase and hence no content, just like many of your posts in this thread. Please make a definitive statement or hypothesis, or ask a question and be done with it. A bunch of argumentative, 2-line posts with no real content isn't going to get you far on this forum.

I think Pinatubo caused abnormally cold weather into at least 1996. Frost free time seems to have been extended by a total of about a month already since then. What are current models predicting? Is there a point when the warming and the cooling up above create a more dangerous atmosphere or will tornadoes become weaker? Weaker and more numerous?

What happens after this post is I forever ignore your post before I get banned from this damn site. And trust me, I'm not the only one...
