Dynamic Feature Identification: Satellite Imagery: Vort Max

LOL I have no idea how they see a few of those vort maxs... I mean, I can "see" them if I look extremely carefully and know exactly where to look (i.e. I've seen the NWP "solution"), but I couldn't spot them w/o any previous knowledge.

Open the water vapor loop:

Load a long animation, and then speed it up and stare at it for awhile. Useful features in the mid- and upper-levels, such as vorticity centers and areas of rising motion, should be easily identifiable.

Second to the visible animation, WV loops are your most important Day-1 forecasting tool.
