• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

    I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

    For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

    From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

dashboard mounts and related

You can also go to e-bay and type in radar dash mount or radar mount. Sometimes you can find a base for the radar antenna. The base has two suction cups on it and you may or may not get the springs to attach it to the vents on the dash. Along with the suction cups these springs hold it into place. You can then take the top off of an old tri pod and bolt it to the radar mount. We just got two more off of e-bay for 10.00 plus 10.00 shipping. With a little craftsmenship it will work fine. Keep checking on e-bay and you will find one. They are old police equipment. Good luck

As promised I took a couple photos.

I placed 3 L-Brackets into the dash secured by 2 screws each;

Attaching a 'window mount' pan & tilt head takes about 20 seconds to screw on as if it were a window. It swivels 360 degrees but, I can also move it to a side window just as quickly if needed.

After looking at a number of pipe, cupholder, suction cup solutions I just went to the hardware and got 3 l-bracket's and 6 screws, cost...about a buck. I slip the window mount under the passenger seat when not in use. It won't work for a large camera (unless you use 3 inch screws) but, suit's my needs.

It also makes a really nice place to put my little GPS mouse. Obviously, use common sense it won't work for some dashes, and if you lease a jag you probably don't want to be putting screws into the dash.

Bogen monopod and a swivel base. Thats my solution. I forget the model numbers, so I suggest that you look it up in any photography catalog. I recommend flexible bases that accept chucks. The chucks can be secured to the camera for swift mounting and dismounting.

I created a fixed foot out of sheet metal that I screwed into the carpet to act as a fixed base. I lined up the base so that it coincided with the flip out ash tray/cup holder. Putting the bottom into the base, sealing it in place with a flexi pipe clamp, and secured the monopod above with bungy cord for quick removal. It has worked well for years. Sorry no pics.

Reading other posts, it seems that there are many ways to mcGyver some solution.
