• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Dash Camera Mount Question...

You can also then get a pretty cheap quick release from Manfrotto to fit onto this mount.

Cheap meaning construction wise, or price wise? Do you have a product number or a link? This seems to be the only Manfrotto option I can find http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...en_Imaging_625_625_Quick_Release_Adapter.html I can't seem to find one without the hexagonal head, excluding the RC4 which too won't work...

EDIT: FOUND ONE!!! http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...y_Bogen_Imaging_323_323_RC2_System_Quick.html

Between all the experiance I have with Gitzo and Manfroto I have to say that there is nothing cheap about the build of Manfroto's products. They are top notch and that is all I buy anymore.

I've used a manfrotto fluid head on my mount for several cameras. B&H sells this one as a replacement for the 3130 head I use. The quick release works great for me. It is certainly durable and holds up to all the backroads in the Plains. BTW that camera is 5.25 lbs and a considerable investment. I would not let it sit atop that mount without some piece of mind.

I'd like something that could absorb some shock because I normally spot solo and need the camera mount to take up some of the shake when driving.

Jerry that's top notice and I love it. Now if I could get something to work with my laptop rammount I'd be happy.
