Since this is NOT my product, this would not be appropriate for Marketplace, mods move if you disagree please... but... (and I am not doing this for ST or being asked to do this for ST.)

Stormtrack still has in their online store the "Commitment To Excellence" sticker. When this came out years ago, I thought this was an excellent idea, and still is.

As chase season approaches year after year on Stormtrack, there always begins debates and 6-9 page threads on storm chasing ethics or lack of, this thing or that thing - why not get a little ahead of the game and get the "Commitment to Excellence" sticker from the Stormtrack store. It's not just a sticker - it's a commitment to respect others while on the field - to chase with excellence and with integrity.

It's not your everyday chase decal. It's a decal that says you're willing to make a difference in the chase community. It's gonna be a circus out there this year more than ever, with all the reality shows out there hammering storm chasing over and over again. I think it's a worthwhile cause and a good reminder.

Great idea; I think this sends a positive message to the greater community. One minor point though; the url on the sticker (stormtrack.org/excel) is no longer valid.

Here's another thought for something similar; a sticker that shows that the vehicle owner has donated to/is involved with a storm damage relief organization. Perhaps there's already something like that out there?

I pondered this a bit and while I'm onboard as to the intent, it's just a sticker that anyone can purchase. If there was some test or criteria to be able to qualify for the "right" to place it on your vehicle, it might be taken more seriously. I hate to complicate things by adding a test or a form to sign because most of the public wouldn't understand the intent.

My reasoning is those stickers that say "I support Law Enforcement" are usually on vehicles that expect to get pulled over for speeding... Hoping that they'll get out of the situation with a warning instead of a citation. Anyone can purchase one and there's no proof that you've done anything to support what you say.

(I have a Skywarn and another "Chasing" sticker on my vehicle for the sole purpose of explaining all the antennas. If the country wasn't so nutty lately about terrorism, I wouldn't have to explain myself...)

Stickers are nice, but glutter up the vehicle

I've got enough stickers for the back of my Caravan. I might stick this "over" the Skywarn. But as it's been said before, anyone can get the sticker. I think actions speak louder.

I'm still waiting for the formation of a professional type organization that has criteria that "qualifies" them for such distinction. Yeah, that's kinda elite minded thinking, but I think I've earned the right to belong to a organization that recognizes my respect and professionalism in the field. That way when I display a sticker it really means something (both to chasers and the community).
