I believe these clouds are also called (rare)

nacreos

But they are an atmospheric phenomenon

The jury is still out if there is some relationship or just coincidence

About the clouds I know nothing. But if one removes the Chinese lyrics from the music playing in the background, what's left is pure American pop from the 1970s. Talk about a pervasive culture...

yes Eric's link is right they are Iridescent clouds. I got some good photos of this exact same thing a few years back when I was living in the UK.

I can't believe those that saw those clouds didn't use the 30 minutes to get away! Nor can I believe that all the earthquake chasers in China didn't realize what they were seeing and head for the epicenter.

BTW, when is there going to be Earthquake chasing. We could put the forum right after the Tropical weather one....
