Chinese earthquake. Strange luminous cloud formations.

Anybody hear about this? Supposedly 30 minutes prior to the big quake there were these luminous glowing colorful cloud formations. Is this a strange phenomenon brought on by this earthquake??? Or is this a strange coincidence? Or just a hoax all together?

I am not sure if its Theory or True but there is plenty of evidence of a certain "earthquake cloud" that appears before Earthquakes. From a Wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earthquake_cloud) It states that the theory is not accepted by scientists or seismologists. There is an aweful lot of articles and pictures if you google "earthquake clouds". IMO I dont think they have anything to do with earthquakes, just happens to be coincidence is all. I am no scientists or what not but I highly doubt that any seismic activity can be predicted or precursed by a cloud. You will notice on Liveleak "earthquake prediction" videos and believe they are a waste of time and will only get credit if indeed an earthquake happens. Hell I have even predicted an earthquake when I lived in Southern California. I picked a day and wrote it on a calendar and got lucky, but it was just a guess and had nothing to do with any info I saw, just Pure Luck. lol.

I was watching a program one day about these clouds were a scientist think that they are a precursor to an earthquake. He beleives (if memeory serves) that they are high amounts of gas's being let out of the ground before the quakes hit. I think they show'd a satalite image and I couldn't pick them out from regular clouds.

These clouds are CLEARLY the result of Scalar amplified ULF waves beamed into space by the Illuminati and their evil Maldekian servants. Also remember that Planet X (Nibiru) is once again closing with Earth, causing all manner of strange phenomenon in the sky! The end is near!!

It's just a circumhorizontal arc, guys. It can be seen not too often, but is not that rare. It can be formed when light is broken in ice-crystals, just like other halo-phenomena. And it's only possible when the height of the sunis above 57 degrees. It has nothing to do with the earthquake at all.....

I've never seen them, but I've read about them on numerous occasions. Personally, I believe they exist. Whether or not the lights reflect off clouds that are already there, bottom line, they've been documented before. Yes, they also occur outside of earthquakes too, so is it coincidence? I don't think so, but I'm not a geologist.

I guess my point is that there's nothing "reflecting" off the clouds... It's formed because of a process similar to a prism breaking up light. Nothing "reflects" off a cloud 10,000+ feet up, let alone 450 miles away!

So you can "believe" that they are earthquake lights, but the evidence tells us otherwise.

Very well could just be an arc too as Menno and Rob suggest. I have no idea. But, EQL have been documented as "atmospheric luminous bands", as these images depict. But, none of us have any proof that they weren't EQL. Probably exhaust from the invisible UFOs that were flying through the region.
