Chasing Dreams/Nightmares.

So I have had Multiple over 15 dreams that consist of something of the following, " I am just doing my normal whatever outdoors and then Tornado warnings come from absolutely no where, you, either A) See it , and have no camera or video camera and no vehicle. or B) I am somewhere and I look and see there are like 6 tor warnings near my hometown, which oddly in my dream , I am no where near.

Out of curiosity do the majority of you other chasers have reoccurring nightmares. You should post the situation you dream about.

Oddly I never have like true dreams where everything happens perfectly =/ , but thats chasing.

LOL thanks! Had you not started this thread, my dream last night would likely have never been remembered. I read the thread then slowly remember the dream I had just last night. I left the store here in town to a supercell developing a tornado and moving east. I started after it, but decided I had to stop and get all my gear working and setup, like GPS and laptop data. Then soon other friends were with me, and they weren't in any big hurry and somehow slowing me down. I had to get it all working in order to keep after the storm, which was now moving further and further away. I wound up never seeing it again, and getting lost on some roads in the process of trying to catch back up. I have them all the time, and mostly I'm trying to get something in order that I really didn't need to. One I was lost in my home town of all locations, unable to get out after the storm.

My past nightmares were always the storm of my life and then I either didn't have a vidcam, a videotape, or the vidcam wasn't working.

Nowadays, it's always the chase of my life, the video is excellent...and then I wake up.

My progression of dreams were similar to Shane's, except now I'm shooting stills and can't get the camera to focus on the tornadoes. Stupid autofocus gets me even in my dreams.

...and then when you find another group of chasers, one says "hey! You have no clothes on!" and you spend the rest of the dream trying to get back home and hiding behind bushes while the tornados are landing all about...

Why do these dreams exist?

You know, I think I had the worst one yet ... I dreamed there were hardly any atmospheric winds at all and that all the systems were going to be gone for months and months on end. Kind of like during the month of ...

Kidding. I slept a wonderful 10 hrs lastnight, catching up. Only because I know tonight is going to rock yet again until dawn.

I get all kinds of photogenic storms and tornadoes in dreams. Seems to always be some technical glitch in the photo or video department. The nightmare begins when a faceless chase partner conveniently forgets to bring his/her BEANO along.

I have storm chasing dreams regularly. Last night, I dreamed there were 4 small tornadoes touching down simultaneously. I was thrilled to witness them, but also furious because I didn't have my camera. I then remembered about a small point-and-shoot camera I keep in my vehicle at all times, but even that was no where to be found! My weather radio was issuing warnings & details I've never heard before. Sirens were blaring, & a fire engine rammed into a building, breaking a large plate glass window so the public could take shelter inside the building.

Before the tornadoes, I witnessed one of the most spectacular sunsets I've ever seen, but again, no camera! I remember being in a van w/ my family, searching franitically for my camera gear under cushions, pillows etc. I was so upset w/ everyone in the vehicle for inadvertently concealing my gear, & w/ myself for being unprepared.

I've also had vivid lightning dreams, such as anvil crawlers traveling in slow motion & remaining visible for several minutes, allowing for unimaginable photogenic opportunities.
