Chasercon 2015

In a dream scenario, the event would move around the country year to year, to give everyone an equally-realistic shot at attending at least one in their lifetime. And not just 2-3 different spots, but rather more of a "US Tour" like the Severe Local Storm Conference has for years. I'd be happy to get DFW as a host once every 8-10 years if I knew I'd at least get that one local opportunity. Have it on the west coast one year, east coast the next, DFW, Chicago, Florida, etc etc and of course Denver. A lot of people can't afford to go every year anyway, and this would give people all over the country a shot at less of a drive. For those who are willing to fly, the point is moot.

Then it could truly be the "national" storm chaser conference, instead of just the Colorado one.

Exactly, Shane! I enjoy the Denver venue but it would be awesome to have it come to DFW, Chicago, Detroit or heck, Miami..

Each year I usually have 4-6 local chasers over in my theatre room to watch the live stream.

I wonder, instead of moving it around, if it could be set up with 3-4 satellite locations around the country with projectors/screens to view the entire event. Not sure if it would be the same as being there, but would minimize the unknown winter travel, and likely bring more attendees overall.

Nothing would stop people from organizing a watch party I suppose, and getting people together to watch the events in Denver.

I think moving it around will be a good thing to bring it closer to people every 5 years or something. Better than having to travel to Denver year in and year out.

So Roger Hill said theyre working on having ChaserCon in Norman for 2016. This is great news. Maybe they should try getting it to New Orleans for Mardi Gras in 2017!

I will go anywhere in the CONUS for Chasercon if they could just NOT have it over Valentine's Day weekend!
(And no matter where it's located, it should ALWAYS kick off with a party in Ben Holcomb's garage)

I've never been but would definitely be there if it were in Norman. I have a hard time justifying spending the cash and driving (or flying) to Denver in the middle of February when both the vacation time and money could be used for chasing later on.

Yeah, a weekend other than Valentines day weekend would be nice. Luckily next year the 14th is a Sunday night, so some could probably come to Norman for the weekend and head out around noon and still catch dinner with the monster I mean woman at home.

My birthday is the 17 of February, so its a great excuse to throw a huge party at Ben's place. Ben if you make it happen I'll probably party my balls off.
