Canon XL1S & Infrared

I'm curious, is it possible to get the XL1S to see infrared light when used at night? I've done some googling and have not yet found anything of help.

Since IR (Infra-Red) is in the "invisible" spectrum and the older XL1 and XL1s were not designed to display that spectrum, it's rather doubtful.

The only possibility would be a filter that would gather the IR light and bring it to the visible spectrum. The CCD's are not equiped that I know of to handle the straight up IR to Visible tranlastion.

I don't know if such a filter even exists. There are "add-on's" for night image intesification and possibly IR applications though. Here's what I found:
