• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Notes:
Can't believe I am selling this baby, but its a shame this nice lens has been sitting around in a bag almost since I got it. The reason I decided to part with this lens is, for the most part it don't get used like it should as my shooting style has changed. I have also decided I want to upgrade to full frame. This lens is pretty much new, aside from some dust specks here and there. No chips, dings or smudges from what I have seen, the glass is clean, no smudges. Colors as well as contrast and IQ are beautiful (from the little bit I have shot). I have not sold or bought anything here and I usually don't sell at all, but I have on astromart under the username "slitherjef". The catch is you need to be logged into astromart to see my rating. I don't expect anyone to create a new account to see the few ratings I got, so I am hoping the photos and the two quick videos I made are enough verification you need.

On to the pics (the lens)

I am from Denver and could meet you to buy it. It is selling used on Craigslist for $750 and I'll give you that! Let me know!

Wow, that is pretty low. Im afraid I can't go that low for mine, I am basing my price off what others have sold theirs for on the popular POTN forums.

I'll give this lens a +1. Love it and use it often.

FWIW I would never let mine sell under $1000.....even in this economy. It is currently selling for $1269, Canon L glass holds value, and 60% of the price on BH would be a hell of a deal. $1000 for a well cared for lightly used copy, IMHO of course, sounds like a good deal.

I did get a bite for 900 last night from elsewhere. Some one just signed up, just yesterday and wanted to meet me localy? Yeah, I read about stuff like this, Im not going to risk getting robbed - or worse. I promptly deleted the ad. Given the fact there is another lens posted on potn for a bit more then mine, there may not be a huge market for this lens at this time. Guess I will just hang on to it for a while and go with a plan "B" what ever that may be. It really is a nice lens

Yeah, I've been thinking about this for a few days, it is a good deal.

But my 40D already has a 1.6 crop factor...making this equivalent to a 480mm. That's a little extreme, even with the occasional sports shooting that I do.

Good luck with plan B.
