• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Canon 10.1 MP Rebel EOS XTI

David, I bought the Xti this past February and I love it. I have nothing but good things to say about this camera. I wanted to step up from my Sony F717 and this was the best camera for me and my budget. I will be shooting a LOT of stills next year and very little video. I still have a lot to learn but I'm slowly getting to know all the bells and whistles of this camera. Anyway, here is a shot I got this year with the camera (the one that went on to produce the Arnett, OK tornado). You can go to my chasenews page at www.chasing-storms.com/chasenews and all of the images on that page were shot with this camera. Hope this helped!

I also thought I would add an image for you to see the resolution:

I'm very satisfied w/ the results of my XTi, & am missing it very much since it was stolen.

The camera is a great one, I've been very happy with it since I got it back in the beginning of this year. The quality of the images are great, I was recently contacted by a landscape printer that does pictures for corporate offices; the image was good enough to be blown up to 38x30" and was compared to their 22 megapixel landscape cameras. The body has no problems what so ever and I love all of the options and one thing I don't think anybody has pointed out is how on the back LCD screen it actually shows you all of the settings your camera is currently in. I think that is a great feature to have!

Of course a lot it will be what type of glass you have in front of it; I'm currently using the Sigma line of things and it hasn't done me wrong yet. For wide angle/landscape I use the Sigma 17-70 lens and then I have a Sigma 70-300 for the long shots... I'd be happy to answer any other questions David if you have them.

With the praise Mike and I have given Canon's L glass I thought I would show some examples, since we all know the proofs in the puddin ;)

This is a post I made on the 70-200L + 1.4x extender: so we are talking like 1.6x from camera + 200mm + 1.4x, ill let someone else do the math for the mm I was shooting. http://www.stormtrack.org/forum/showthread.php?t=9072

This is with the 24-70 both shot handheld. (it has an amazingly short focal length)
