My apologies if this has been covered in a previous thread, and this may be a really dumb question...
I have had a little media interest in storm footage over the years, but it was always several weeks to several months after the fact. That is to say, I've never had my footage used in a "breaking news" situation.
I guess my question is, how do chasers get their video up on CNN or MSNBC or TWC or whatever so quickly? Often times, large media outlets will be featuring chaser video the night of the event. Is this only done via FTP upload?
Also, if one has marketable footage, how does one garner prompt interest and attention from national media?
Any info or insight anyone can provide is appreciated. Thanks.
