Brand New Footage of Andover Tornado

Sigh... Did anyone happen to download the video? Would love to see this.

Well I hope if they did they keep it to themselves and not repost it, since that would be stealing and if someone did that to one of our videos, we would be irate and posting about it in the copyright threads.

I happen to know he has been contacted by certain media, and made the video private until he can weigh his options and protect his video. That video is valuable and historic.

Hello fellow tornado entusiasts. This is dadof4spartans the guy that uploaded the youtube video of the Andover tornado. Keep your pants on fellers! I'm going to clean up the video and watermark it as suggested then I will repost it in a few days. I've also talked to a kid who may have another never before seen video of the tornado...he just has to find it in his aunts basement LOL.

Someone commented last night that he should watermark it and attempt to sell it, probably why he made it private. Go figure.

That was me who made the post on YouTube. I just thought it would be a shame if the some media outlet tricked him into selling that video for less than its worth, or if someone stole the video off of YouTube. Sorry.

Well, hopefully it's made available to watch again soon. Whether by having to pay for it or not. I must have overlooked this thread until tonight. Obviously the original vid is gone from youtube, but the aftermath video is very interesting. Hopefully those of us who haven't seen it yet will get a chance in the near future.

Yes, it's the same video, and its back up with a shiny new watermark!

I must thank Troy for reposting it on YouTube, if he ever catches wind of this thread and reads it. It is clearly a rare and historic gem of a video - classic for many reasons - and of all the Andover videos should rank among the highest. There simply are not many videos that I can think of off hand that show an F-5 Tornado directly targeting the videographer. It's a piece of Tornado History revealed.

If the mods can edit the YouTube link on my first thread (edit button has dissapeared on post #1) That would be appreciated since Troy re-uploaded it to a different URL.

Incredible video footage to be sure. It looks like at the very beginning of the video the tornado is passing over the AFB, as it goes from a stovepipe looking tornado to more of a wedge right around that time.

Interesting how there was apparently little or no precipitation falling at the location of the cameraman. The FF precip must have been just north of their location. This gave them a clear view of the tornado for at least 9 minutes (probably more) before it hit.

Thanks Paul for letting us know the link was back up!

Thanks so much for sharing that video link; that is hands-down some of the best footage I've seen of what was truly a landmark storm. It's a rare opportunity to get so much footage of such a beautiful (and deadly) storm.

The Andover tornado really offered some of the best imagery of multiple vortex structure I've ever seen, period.

Truly historic footage!
