• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Best way to clean LCD

What's the best method of cleaning an LCD screen? Actually not nessesarily the best but, the most cost effective solution in terms of both time and money?

I read somewhere your not supposed to use this, but alcohol and a cotton ball or very soft cloth is my preferred method, and it's worked well for years with no side effects on the screens. Just need enough to get the cotton ball/cloth damp. It cleans great and evaporates very quickly. I use alcohol to clean all my computer stuff, including my mouse and keyboard with a q-tip.

I actually use spray on car wax. Spray it on a rag and wipe it on. Then it'll be clean and won't smudge as easily because of the barrier between your fingers and the glass.

I ordered a bottle, looks good. The thing I like about it is it can be used on cd's, pda's, ipods, etc as well. The bottle will probably last 10 years. Thanks for the tip.

David, yeah, I used alcohol as well for years. Those old serial mouse's that built up the lint on the rollers was the worst, thank got for optical mice.

Caleb, specifically LCD displays. I get some gunky stuff build up over time maybe one two many sneezes or something, so the water just wouldn't cut it. I have always just used glass cleaner on CRT's/TV's (don't know of this is bad or not).

Great price too , I paid $14.95 for mine

I thought that stuff might be made of alcohol but was surprised to find out it wasn't. I remember years ago when I was a DJ and CDs first started getting mainstream. The company I worked for bought this expensive stuff that was like a 5 oz bottle for $10, which didn't last all that long. I learned later it was nothing more than alcohol and water. We started buying bottles of alcohol for 50 cents and making our own after that. LOL

A damp lint-free cloth (especially warm) works best IMO. Be careful with other products since some of them might void your warranty if damage occurs.
