We have your best lightning shot thread (which takes an insane amount of talent by the way) I thought I would start a best lightning video thread. Namely because I can't master lightning photography :p. I am looking for your best 3 to 5 minute (could be more or less) footage of a barrage of CG's. 2010 supercells were prolific CG producers. The most notable for me was the June 17th supercell.... I will let you see for yourself.

Each flash you see was a single stroke CG crashing out of the vault region of this supercell. It sounded like warfare! Post yours!

(I particularly love frequent night time CC-CG-CA footage. I have some of that I need to edit and will post too)

My videos aren't great but here's the best I got:
August 2nd, 2009, timelapse video of a nighttime tornado warned storm in southwest MN.

July 23rd, 2010 south of Kimball, SD. The CG's are more evident when the video is not timelapsed but I dont feel like going through the trouble of uploading the original. The video doesn't do this storm justice, it was throwing out INTENSE CG's all over the place, to the point I was starting to feel uncomfortable being outside of the car for too long.

To give an idea of the CG's from the 7/23/10 storm, here is a video grab of one of the bolts:

That 6/17 storm did have amazing lightning. Jeff Duda pulled up along side of Danny and I while we were watching the storm structure and when I shook Jeff's hand between the vehicles a huge crack of CG made us jump:

The dome muffles the audio, but you can still make it out. I'll post a timelapse from 4/29 in a bit. That was some of the best lightning I've seen all year in terms of quantity. There was more CG on 6/17 but 4/29 had just a ton of CC strikes.

Must be something about those June storms. I love when you get that constant CG action in the cage. In the video below you can see a few of them and hear others as well.

This is probably the loudest thunder I have ever captured on film at :25

I got some great video of a supercell down near Pueblo on May 15th that was tornado warned for a little bit. Never produced but put on an amazing light show!

Lightning starts at around 1:30ish. We had a few very close strikes. One of my favorite chases of 2010...

Here's a few combined clips of some of my better lightning timelapse from 2010. 6/12 and 6/17 had the best CG's, but I wasn't able to get video. 4/23, 4/29, and 6/21 were prolific CC producers and I was able to get a few shots with the camera dome. These clips would have to be some of my best lightning video apart from random CG strikes from other days:

I love the April 29 sequence. I was struck by how dramatic the structure looked backlit by lightning. At first the RFD gust front/wall cloud looked like a solid vertical wall jutting into the horizontal base at a right angle. As it fanned out there were these creepy scud fingers that looked like a hand reaching out. It was quite the sight. This was also only the second time I've heard continuous thunder, just a constant, consistent, and uninterrupted rumble.

Got to love CG lightning barrages, the first video is insane Danny!

Got a couple here from this year. Lightning was frequent enough it could be made into a time lapse from photos.

6/12 just north of Stinnett, TX. I think everyone that was chasing this storm was happy they got out alive. Such incredible CGs!

11/24 from here down under. Lots of positive lightning from this pulsey.
