Sounds great and I will be looking forward to seeing it in action. Thanks in advance.

Ordered my Droid X a couple of days ago (will take two weeks to ship due to back orders). Looking forward to purchasing this app. Thanks!

My Droid X was supposed to come with it as that was one of the big advertising points. I got it the day it came out. No Android 2.2. Still no update to 2.2 either. They're saying Mid-Late Sept for 2.2 for the DX.

Easy way to get 2.2: ROOT! Google it, its the best thing I ever did to my Droid Eris. Im running the KaosFroyo Android 2.2 ROM, and it is amazingly FAST and smooth, havent had any problems with my phone since I rooted. :D

Alright so now i'm drooling for both the official 2.2 update and this app. Please let us know of any updates over the next few weeks!

Yeah except when the real 2.2 release comes out your phone will not be compatible with the actual 2.2 update from Verizon unless you flash your phone back to stock.

I keep up on all of that stuff too. :D

Can someone please point me to a good Android FAQ? (My idea of a cell phone is a $20 pay-as-you-go LG bought from Frys/Kroger.) An app of this sort just might push me to plonk down the $ for a 'proper' smartphone.

Mike, is there a minimum configuration of some sort that the phone must meet in order to run your app?

Thanks

Mike, is it going to be similar the RadarScope app on the iPhone? I emailed the developers of that app last week and begged them to release it for android. They basically told me to not hold my breath. If your app is even half as good as that app you can count me in on day one. I have a Samsung Galaxy S phone running Eclair with a supposed update in October to Froyo. The Super Amoled screen is absolutely stunning compared to any other phone I have seen to date. Droid-smoid ;)

I have run into a problem with the Developer There was a mix up and for some reason they haven't got anything done in the past 16days do to a miss-communication on there end Hopefully We will be back on target today.

Anybody looking to help me out with testing Alpha and Beta versions of this Project please PM me with your personal Email Address and what you think you can contribute to criticism

Alpha 1.5-2 Weeks Away
Beta 2-3 Weeks Away
Final Release hopefully about 3.5 Weeks away

I am very excited to bring this new technology to the android platform and have several other things up my sleeve if I break even on this application.

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat, Greg, and trying to figure out the best choice among all the variables. Want to stay with Verizon, which may make the Incredible a good choice, but I want to hear other opinions--am following the other thread as well.

The Incredible would be a great way to go. FWIW, I still hear critics call it and the Evo on Sprint the best Android experience out there. Not to get this off topic of Mike's app, but a new version of the Incredible should be coming out around November on Verizon with possible LTE compatibility so, just something to think about...

Release date details

October 25th, 2010 Is the day I should have my hands on The final Build
So start looking for this app Starting around then... unless otherwise stated in this thread.:) This has ended up costing alot of time and a little bit of hard earned cash so hopefully its what everybody has been looking for I have something really cool in the works for this app later down the road as well.

Thanks!

I'm looking forward to this app. Thanks for taking the time and I hope it is successful for you.

looking forward to this coming out, I will be purchasing it and downloading it to my Samsung Intercept.

i was in the same boat your were both in about 2 weeks ago. I got my first smart phone and I ended up going with sprint and I got the Samsung Intercept and I can't say I've been disappointed in the least.

this phone works off the Android apps, and it does everything. I can get email, send/receive pic/text msgs, watch NFL Sunday Ticket on it, watch Espn Sportscenter, get the weather, read the NY Times, I even downloaded the entire Bible onto it, got the US Constitution app on it, it does facebook as well, and a plethora of over things!

The Samsung Intercept or Epic is a good starting foundation.

Through Sprint I pay $99 a month for unlimited text, phone calls, and data. so it's not too shabby.

thought that might help the both of you.
