I am looking for the best at home weather station. I would like as many differing measurements as possible, but my big concern is the ability to data log(over the course of years) and sort the information.

My budget is about $500.

Anyone have any ideas? Or experience?

I have no experience but my uncle does and a Davis Vantage Pro 2(I think) is likely the best option, It has inside/outside temp, inside/outside humidity, inside/outside dew point, precip over the past month and 24hr. Outside barometric pressure and trend over the past 24hr, anemometer and wind vane(Updates almost instantly). There may be more, this is just what I remember. The wireless version is $595. Both the wired and wireless version's sensor is solar powered and battery powered. The wired version is $495. You can buy software for this and you can hook the home receiver up to your computer via USB and it will track the records. I'm hopefully getting my uncles old one.
