Hey everyone I am looking for some cloud identification. Due to inexperience Im not sure if I have anything special here. I took these shots yesterday. (This storm was severe warned)
Looks like a monsoon storm based on the foreground. That feature you've zoomed in on could be an updraft base. There are a lot of low clouds in the foreground obscuring any obvious structure though, so its difficult to tell.
I agree with Skip. Nothing really special here except an intense monsoon storm. BTW nice photos. Next time try to get more of the landscape, since that's usually more interesting than the storms themselves.
Agree...nice pic of monsoon, but definitely not enough of the land in the frame. Having about 1/3 of the land and 2/3 of the sky would help give it more impactful depth and perspective.
Yeh I agree with both of you the truth is I was as wide as I could go on my lens (17mm +sensor crop) and way to close to the storm to get a better shot

I run into the same thing with a 1.6 crop and 17mm widest, but it's something you can overcome. A couple of options for you is that you can take a couple of images by turning the camera on the side and/or taking overlapping pictures and merging them in post processing. If you intend to merge overlapping images, always a good idea to overlap them by about 25% or so. You will need to shoot in full manual mode, with all images shot with identical ISO/shutter/aperature settings, ideally in RAW, and a tripod is a good idea. This way the camera is doing as little processing on the image as possible and you don't end up with different color skies or clouds or a harsh seam in your image.
