Hey everyone,

I know this has come up in the past, but not much activity on the posts about Satellite Feeds such as NOAAPORT or EMWIN?

What feeds, if any, does everyone use?

I have an old 10-foot dish that I am planning to use for NOAAPORT; however, I haven't had much progress on setting it up yet. I also have a 6-foot dish and a NOVRA S-75.

I know with EMWIN you can use a 6-foot dish. Anybody have any experience with EMWIN hardware and software?

I heard that EMWIN-N is also going to become available? Is there a release date of the new EMWIN feed with hardware?

I am also going to setup a poll to see what people are using. I am very interested in learning what some storm chasers or enthusiasts use.

Thanks,
Christopher Zenzel

With all the resources available on the internet, it just doesn't seem feasible to go through the trouble and expense to mess with a satellite feed for weather information anymore.... unless if you are in an extremely remote area and satellite is your ONLY option.

There was a time when I actually invested in a mobile satellite internet system (big mistake.)
It's terribly expensive, very unreliable, and maintenance is a constant as well.

I would venture to guess that 99% on here are sticking to the WWW for data.
