• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Anybody else get this?

I got this yesterday, it was followed by full contact information (address, phone, email etc) for the editor which I left off..

Hello. I was browsing weather photos on Flickr and came across the photos you uploaded of thunderstorms and lightning in your area, and I see from your profile that you're interested in storm-chasing.

I'm a national editor at Fox Interactive Media in NYC and we're building a database of weather contributors who submit photos, video, audio or written reports about local weather events. I was hoping I could add you to it.

Be assured we are not marketers or sales people -- we are MyFox news editors seeking good user-generated weather content. We may contact you to inquire if you have photos, video or can even do an interview about a local weather event.

In exchange we would:
>> Credit any submissions to you or your blog
>> Send you a link to any story that includes your content
>> Provide you direct contact with our editorial team (*edited*@fox.com) if you have weather news to pitch
>> My personal contact info
>> We also may grant you early access to new weather news products

If you're interested in becoming one of our MyFox weather contributors, please send me the info below and I'll add you to the database. If you want to speak with me directly don't hesitate to call.

Sort of sounds somewhat interesting, yet they don't seem to mention any financial compensation for any of your work. May look pretty good on a esume, but doesn't pay any bills though and that seems strange to me coming from a network the size of Fox.

Yes sir, ... it ends at interesting however because of the "lack of" financial compensation. Fox is big enough to fork over a few dollars for pictures and videos, lord knows they make enough from showing them to others. I would like exposure just like anyone else but if everyone gives it away we will all end up losing in the end because they would have enough free media that they would not have to pay for any of it in the future. I may contact them for further info but they are just like everyone else in my book. "You get what you pay for and if you don't pay you don't get much" ;)
