Thanks to Bob Prentice for the map of trucks with free Wi-fi in Texas!

I wonder if similar maps exist for other states. That would sure come in handy, particularly--for me--in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. I just don't have the cash to sign up for a two-year contract with one of the wireless providers, particularly when I won't have a practical use for it much of the time. Seems like most hot-spots today require a subscription or else are locked.

You can make maps of advertised-free wifi hotspots, and I think some members have done this in the past. By "advertised free", I'm referring to those places like Microtels, Super 8s, Paneras, and Schlotzskys, not 'unsanctioned' open wifi nets. Aaron Kennedy had such a list for a while, but I'm not sure of its current status. I wish I'd remember some of these places, particularly those out in the middle of nowhere (random restaurants, etc).
