Does anyone know of an Android app that has push notifications for mesoscale discussions that have been issued for your current (or selectable) location?

I just use Radarscope and/or Radar Omega. The instant an MD or Watch is issued it’s plotted on screen. Then you don’t have to monitor Twitter or their website with constant refreshing.

Should note that MD and Watches require a RadarScope Pro Tier Two subscription. You would have to look at the screen to see it(no alert). I haven't tired RadarOmega. The free WX app does support notifications (Android only) for MCD, MPD, and outlooks based on your location. I have WX installed, but have not tried the notifications.

I'm trying to find something that will auto alert, via push notification, whenever an MD is issued for my location. Mainly for when I'm working or doing something where I can't be looking at an app, or checking it often.

The iMap Weather Radio app gives push notifications for watches and warnings, for current location and for any other select zip codes you choose. No MDs, but sounds like you’re not really using it for chasing anyway and just want it for when you're doing other stuff. So if it’s more for general weather awareness than for chasing, this app should do the trick.

iMap weather radio appears to be apple/iOS only, I'm looking for an Android (or generic) solution. Not wanting it for chasing, just something to alert me when I'm too busy/working to keep track of things. I already receive most alerts through iNWS notifications, but MDs give even more lead time that there may be something heading my way, than a Watch.

Weather Informant does it. I use this daily - it allows you to set up a list of favorites that are updated silently, or also alarms that can notify you.

You can even filter them by keyword, so you can get all MCDs that say "violent", your local AFD that says "UPDATE", any tornado warning that says "CONSIDERABLE", etc. It's a VERY nice app.

Roger,
If you go to Settings -> Location -> "tap Your_location" -> Edit, from the next screen you can enable MCD (and others) for that specific location. You'll need to enable sound on that screen as well if you want that.

thanks,
Josh

I looked in WX (have had it installed for a couple of years now) but it looks like it alerts for any/all MDs, not location specific.

Will push notifications work in iOS, or just android? Great app by the way... I recommend wX to everyone asking for a weather app...
