Ok, I searched for a thread on this and missed it somehow as Im sure this was discussed.....here is my problem. I've been very busy this winter and early spring and am just now getting around to turning back on my wireless card for the upcoming season. Well now I mistakenly didnt think of the fact that since I cancel my plan or turn it off after every season Im of course not grandfathered in like my cellular plan. As a matter of fact, I now need a whole new wireless card according to them as my Kyocera KPC680 wont work anymore on Verizon. Now I've gotta find a Verizon PC Card, preferrably not the USB, I'll also now be stuck with the stupid 5 GB cap. Any thoughts anyone? Also, anyone with a verizon card for sale please PM me.

Please move this to Equipment as I thought thats where I posted it, sorry about that.

Who is "them." I just reactivated my Kyocera KPC680 on Verizon and it works fine. Are you going through an outlet store? If so it sounds like they are giving you some BS to get you to buy a new card. Call Verizon and have them activate your data over the phone. I just did that yesterday with the exact same data card.

Well I did call up to Verizon and thats the info I was told, now are you saying your data card was with Alltel previously and you deactivated at the end of season and now reactivated on the Verizon Network? Wasnt sure if your saying your data card was with Verizon last season or with Alltel, regardless I guess the point is that the Kyocera card works. I dont know Im gonna try again tomorrow morning and see what I get out of these idiots.

I guess if the card was hard wired to work only on Alltel that would make sense. I bought my card on ebay and it was probably configured for Verizon's network. It was fairly cheap to buy on ebay though, so it might not be too bad to pick up another one.

Yeah, I bought mine from Ebay too but it actually says Alltel on it so Im not sure if that means what you just said or not. Either way, pretty much comes down to me picking up another one off Ebay thats a verizon card. Problem is due to this problem I'll probably sit out today.

I have a USB air card that is (was)on Alltel, and when Verizon took over I remember that there was a software or firmware update for the card. I think is was more for use in the Verizon network adding there towers and such. I never shut mine off don't know if that made any differance or not, but it works fine and still don't have the 5gb cap.

I think they just want you to get a new card and a 2 year aggrement with it sounds to me.

Next problem I noticed is that for the software download for the Vmanager I believe its called....its states that the card I have and that software arent compatible with Windows 7. So now due to Windows 7, this is the 2nd piece of equipment I will be changing this year....oh well luckily these aircards are cheap on Ebay.
