With initiation south of DDC it looks like the show is beginning, so will open this now thread. Including states that the SPC MD alluded to. Anybody down there?

To be fair, it is a county and a half away from Greensburg ATTM. :)

The storm is moving into a higher CAPE environment. (bullseye of 1500 SE of DDC).

Looks like two storms side by side now. Storm motion is due NE and they are booking. If the easternmost storm takes just a bit of a right turn, then Greensburg will be under it in about 45 minutes.

I had a feeling when DDC was not participating in today's forecast discussions it was because they were under the gun. :)

I wouldn't expect TOO much out of the convection near Greensburg yet. This area may eventually go, but I don't think it will be as rapid as people are expecting. LFC's are still sky high, and a lot of cinh remains. I think this area will be struggling with a lot of ups and downs for a little while at least.

Anyone interested in watching a live stream of the cell east of DDC can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/Gfn90
Randy Cooper has a nice shot of it, and should have for a little while.

going to have to watch the cell that just went up south of jetmore.

going to have to watch the cell that just went up south of jetmore.

Was just thinking that, it has a nice shape and is a little separated from the junk going on to the south. Shot up to 55 dbz in a couple scans.

The storm near Greensburg has had 1" hail indicated for a couple of scans now on GR3.

EDIT: latest scan of the storm NNE of Greensburg shows 2" hail and a bit of a hook forming.

Why isn't that cell in KS TS warned? There's obviously a hail core in that thing. GR2AE shows the core right above the -20 degree line.

Edit: Now they warn it...looks like it's taking on some supercellular characteristics now.
