9/15/10 NOW: KS

I am currently blasting west with James Hilger to get ahead of the storm that is due west of Eureka. It has a great looking flying eagle on radar. Visually it has a MASSIVE wall cloud. Simply incredible looking! Spotternet report coming soon.

It was so amazing. It was large and had an amazing inflow. The Scud action was amazing. Scud getting Sucked up into the updraft, Rotation was not that strong but I can confirm I saw this.

I hate the fact that I was at the state fair all day and left camera and video camera at home.

Strong tornado signature 2 mi. N of Piedmont in the Flint Hills.

There is also a rotation just east of the Kansas Turnpike at Mulvane exit.

There are two nice supercells ongoing in southern Kansas. One possible tornado was located 10 miles southwest of Eureka, KS or about 8 miles west northwest of Severy, KS as of 6:48pm CDT. Luckily there is not much in the immediate path of this storm, though it could pass near the small town of Severy in the next half hour (between 7:15-7:25pm CDT).

Another possible tornado as located near Derby, KS as of 6:48pm CDT and was moving east at about 25mph.

EDIT: The possible tornado in Greenwood County, Kansas was located about 5 miles north northwest of Severy, KS or about 8 miles south of Eureka, KS as of 6:57pm CDT. Luckily it should pass about 4 miles north of Severy, KS.

EDIT 2: As of 7:11pm CDT if a tornado is on the ground with the eastern supercell, it is crossing highway 99 about 3 miles north of Severy, KS.

EDIT 3: The storm in extreme southeastern Greenwood County, Kansas continues to have an impressive radar presentation. However, a line of thunderstorms was rapidly approaching this supercell from the northwest and should lessen its tornado potential in the next 15-30 minutes. Regardless, as of 7:39pm CDT a possible tornado was located near Fall River, KS or about 5 miles WNW of New Albany, KS.

EDIT 4:
Wow!

The supercell near Winfield, KS has a "boxing glove" hook echo on it! Just by scanning through the tilts on a given elevation scan you can see rotation in it. There HAS to be a rain-wrapped tornado in the middle of that monster.

Nasty looking rotation near Winfield. If there was indeed a tornado within that, I hope it missed Winfield.

Here at my apartment in Wichita I received 1/2 dollar size hail and 50 mph + inflow. One heck of a storm.

Looks to be wrapping up into itself and cutting off the main inflow. We'll see if it gets its act back together, but surely there was a tornado under there. Wow!

Side note... Is ST loading realllllyyyy slow for anyone else?

Had a pretty good looking bow go thru here NW of KJLN. Est. winds of 60+ had numerous 6" healthy limbs down. No structural damage that I can tell.
