Was fortunate enough to see the persistent funnel to my east that eventually touched down over the Lemon Gulch area. Quickly took E-470 east then dropped south into a Parker subdivision where I stopped to watch the first & second reported touchdowns near Lemon Gulch (a sparsely populated area east of I-25 & a good ways south of the Denver metro limit).
From what I could tell, the tornado over Lemon Gulch lasted about 20 mins (5:30-5:50). Another funnel formed to the east, reported near Aurora Reservoir, but I never had visual of the ground swirl/debris.
Developing tornado over Lemon Gulch, second reported touchdown, 5:35.
Facing SSW a few minutes later.
The dusty vortex towards the latter end of its mature phase. See one of the news choppers taking an extra close look! (click on the photo to see a larger version)
